I'm Sick Again!
Once again I'm sick. At first I thought it was just a cold but it is starting to feel more like the flu. I'm also getting a lot of migraines. Anyways, I just wanted to come on here for a minute to let you know that I'm sick and I'm sorry that I didn't post much last week and I'm not sure how much I will post this week. I don't even feel well enough to read. I will try to read and make posts if I feel up to it, but I'm pretty sure that wont happen for at least a few more days. I really am sorry guys. I will be back as soon as possible. Promise.

High Summer Read-a-Thon
So, like I've said before, I suck at read-a-thons and guess what, I was right. It's almost 1pm and I'm just waking up. I woke up to a huge crash. I thought my dad fell and he came in my room freaking out asking if I was okay because he thought I fell. Turns out something happened in the basement. No idea what happened, but apparently there are things everywhere.
Anywho, I thought I should make a post to let everyone know that I am about to start reading. I'm starting with Extraordinary by Nancy Werlin. I'm not sure what I will read after that, but I will let you know either by updating on here or on Twitter (@TheNovelNymph). Well, I'm off to read. Wish me luck.

My Review: Between the beautiful cover and all the great things people were saying about this book I just knew I had to pick it up right away. I read it not long after I bought it and I just have to say that I was very disappointed. Maybe if my expectations weren't so high going into it I would have loved it.
I found the story to be a bit slow at times and I didn't feel that attached to any of the characters. However, I did enjoy it enough that I bought Torment. I haven't been in any hurry to read the second book but I plan on getting to it soon. Hopefully it will be better than Fallen.

Once Upon a Read-a-Thon Wrap Up
Once again I have failed at a read-a-thon. I honestly don't know why I participate in them. lol I have been sick a lot lately and because of that I only managed to read one book. I read Willow by Julia Hoban and about 100 pages of Strange Angels by Lili St. Crow. I still had a lot of fun while I was able to read and I did participate in one mini challenge which was something new for me. I usually just read. So in the end I am disappointed in myself but still think that the read-a-thon (while I was well enough to read) was fun.

Review: This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen

Summary: When it comes to relationships, Remy doesn't mess around. After all, she's learned all there is to know from her mother, who's currently working on husband number five. But there's something about Dexter that seems to defy all of Remy's rules. He certainly doesn't seem like Mr. Right. For some reason, however, Remy just can't seem to shake him. Could it be that Remy's starting to understand what those love songs are all about?
My Review: Believe it or not, this was the first Sarah Dessen book I've ever read. I actually won this book awhile ago with a couple of others. I just kept putting it off since I didn't know what to expect going into it but I can honestly say that I enjoyed it so much that now I want to read all of Sarah Dessens books.
This Lullaby was a fantastic read. It was also a fast read. I flew right through it needing to know how it would end. I just couldn't put it down. I kept telling myself that I would take a break after one more chapter but that never happened. I read the whole thing in one sitting.
The main character, Remy, was hard to like at times but for me that just made her seem more real. She actually had flaws which is pretty unique. Usually if a main character has flaws it's something that can be looked at as kind of cute and not much of an actual flaw. So as much as I wanted to smack Remy sometimes, it was also refreshing to have a character that seemed so real.
Dexter was just plain awesome. I wanted to be friends with him from the start. He is so funny and just impossible to not like. He had me laughing so hard at times. Even weeks after reading This Lullaby I wanted Dexter to be real and not a fictional character so I could hang out with him
Overall, this was a great book, with an interesting plot and it was well written. I am now a Sarah Dessen fan and I will definitely be picking up more of her books in the future.

Mini Review: Mockingjay (The Hunger Games #3) by Suzanne Collins

My Review: I love this trilogy, however I was slightly disappointed with this book. After I finished Catching Fire, I had to start Mockingjay right away. Going from such an amazing read is probably why I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first two. Don't get me wrong, it is still an incredible read, it just didn't feel the same as the books before it.
I gave it 4 out of 5 stars because even though it was a bit of a let down, I still really loved it. I wish there was more.

My Review: What can I say about Catching Fire other than wow! I put off reading The Hunger Games because of all the hype. After I finally read it, and loved it, I told myself I would put off reading Catching Fire because I wanted these books to last as long as possible. It wasn't easy but I managed to keep it on my shelf for a month or so.
I finally caved and read it and I loved it just as much as the first book. I may have even enjoyed it more. I want to dive right into Mockingjay. I want, no, I need more.
Collins really knows how to create amazing stories and develop incredible characters. I need to read Mockingjay right now. I can't wait any longer. I have to know how it all ends.

This week I read:

This week I hope to read:
Once again I hope to finish Legacy. I have decided to suck it up and read it. I am honesly enjoying it so far but like I said last week, using NetGalley equals migraines. I have also decided that no matter what, I will not start another book and only read Legacy. Last week I read Jonas and for some reason picked up Across the Universe. I will read nothing but Legacy this week until I finish it. I will get through it. I really need to start getting through what I have on NetGalley.
